Applications are closed for the Colorado Chamber Music Institute June 21-29, 2024. Check back in January of 2025 for next year’s application information.

Students must be between the age of 13 and 18 years as of June 1st and play Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar or Flute. Minimum performance levels for applicants are as follows: (These pieces are to be used as a guideline for the playing level required so a student can get an idea about the general level. You do not need to perform these specific pieces.)

  • Violin Sonata in F Major by Handel
  • Viola Concerto in G Major by Telemann
  • Cello Danse Rustique by Squire
  • Guitar Rondeau, Op.48, No. 6 by Fernando Sor
  • Flute Flute Sonata in F Major by Handel, or Tambourin by Gossec

Early Decision:  Applications are due by February 25th. Early Decision applicants will be notified by March 1st.  If accepted, initial payment and all registration forms are due within 15 days. All Early Decision students save $250.00 if paid within this 15 day period. (Payment plans are available.)

Regular Decision:  Applications deadline is extended to April 14th! If accepted, initial payment and all registration forms are due within 15 days. (Payment plans are available.)  Late Applications (after April 15th) will be accepted and considered on a case by case basis.

 

Application: Incoming 9th graders through recent high school graduates, ages 13-18.

Your completed application should include links to YouTube videos of the student performing:

  • A 3-octave scale of your choice
  • One or two solo selections (with accompaniment is preferred, but not required) demonstrating varying technical and musical skills. See video audition details.

We are fortunate to have on board as our resident artists, Stephanie Skor, Kirsti Petraborg, and Rosa Thompson-Vieira from the Twin-Cities based Lux String Quartet! (www.luxstringquartet.com)  Violinist Stephanie Skor, Violist Kirsti Petraborg, and Cellist Rosa Thompson-Vieira bring a wealth of performing and coaching knowledge to our team, and we are so excited that all accepted applicants will get a chance to work closely with them throughout the week.

We will email a recommendation form to each teacher you list on your application. Applications will only be considered complete when the recommendations are returned to us. Finalists must submit the CCMI Registration Form and tuition fee by April 15 or their spot will be forfeited. Payment plans are available.

Tuition: $2,550 includes all coaching, meals, lodging, and activities at our 7 day/8 night institute at Beaver Creek Resort, June 16 through June 24, 2023. Payment plans are available.
